theirs was a journey that started with a white volvo and an entire month of august to cross canada. 3 passengers … 31 days … 9 provinces … 7862 kilometers … 692 dollars worth of gas, until he figured out that she was the one.

on august 15th, becky+shand united in the presence of their friends+family. their love of the mountains culminated in a celebration of love in whistler. just like their story, theirs was a wedding not to be forgotten.

it wouldn’t be a proper wedding without these fabulous little touches meant for the little people; becky’s background in early childhood education meant that there will be children at her reception. which meant that these little guests would be properly acknowledged. these little handprinted present bags were too delicious for me to not photograph!

i have been looking forward to this out-of-vancouver wedding for quite some time now. julia+peter lit up my studio as soon as they walked in for our first meet-n-chat, and the laughs have never stopped since. they made me LOL to the point of having to put down my camera during their lifestyle session here, and i knew that we would all have equally great a time on their wedding day at the rockwater secret cove resort on the sunshine coast.

amidst beautiful friends+family and spectacularly colorful details, they said their i-do’s, and then we totally rawked out their photo shoot!

OMG i am soooooo behind on blog posts! august has been a crazy month, and i’m just starting to resurface after all the weddings and image work in the studio. so without much further ado, here’s alexa+aaron’s wedding, held at queen elizabeth park in vancouver.

i just have to say that when i saw alexa’s GORGEOUS shoes, i said to her, “can i have 5 minutes alone with your shoes?” and made her mom laugh out loud. i like to think that i have that kind of effect on people. make them laugh, that is (; …but look! aren’t these amazing? i mean … absolutely positively LICKable. i LOVE my f-tradition brides!

nat+sat got married at the stanley park pavilion on one of vancouver’s hottest summer days to date. the coolest thing about their wedding is that nat is my first non-traditional wedding gown bride, and i love her to pieces for it! together with sat, she took all the traditions and added their own little twist, with help from an amazing group of vendors, wonderfully orchestrated by the fabulous samantha berry of dreamgroup productions ::sigh:: simply put? a fabulous day.

the cake and cupcakes were made by stanley park pavilion … and had the coolest replica of the taj mahal as the top centerpiece. SO cool and SO magical.

amidst laughs, sat stood up with a handwritten poem for nat. it started kind of like this …

“i made it through the wilderness.
somehow i made it through.
didn’t know how lost i was until i met you…”

oh, what a lovely lovely day, nat+sat! thank you so very much for both of your fun-loving spirits! congratulations!

oh, another GORGEOUS sunny day!!! this time, i’ve trekked out to ladner to the beautifully restored kirkland house for leanne+sean’s sunday wedding! along for the g’times and giggles is tracey from tracey heppner photography … thanks for being awesome, trace! there were so many wonderful vendors preparing for this wedding … oh where do i start?

on the day of american independence commemoration, kristin+rich celebrated their commitment to each other amidst very close-knitted family and friends. their day began at heron lake in the van dusen gardens, and carried on to the shaughnessy restaurant which boasts amazing cuisine! i took the bridal party to a nearby elementary school to have some fun on the swings! the boys and girls didn’t need extra prompting when asked to pump as high as they could! you guys were GREAT!

the school has the cutest lil red fire truck to play in!

the bridal party hanging out while kristin spun around a few times for me in front of the white wall. aren’t they all just so adorable?

… and then it’s back at van dusen gardens’ shaughnessy restaurant where cool details like hand printed cards on favor boxes greeted me. simple, yet very very effective.

a gorgeous cake made by cupcakes, who also did not disappoint by presenting actual cupcakes for the dessert part of the evening.

it was an evening filled with much joy and laughter …

… followed by a very sweet dance by the married couple, who showed some very sleek dance moves.

congratulations, kristin+rich! you two are simply great together, and i felt very lucky to have been able to capture the memorable moments of your wedding day! have tons of fun backpacking through europe, and i’ll catch up with the both of you when you’re back from your adventure! xx
